  • FIRST MEAL OUT ☕️Yes, enough was enough. I booked half a day off and went to my favourite pub ever! And you know what, I inhaled the food I was desperate to eat out, sat at one of my favourite places, savouring a meal that was prepared by someone else. And what delicious food that was... Needless to say now isn’t the time to say no to dessert. And I really didn’t! Not when it combined two of my favourite ingredients: chocolate and pistachio. An indulgent chocolate fondant was perfectly balanced by a dollop of creme Fraîche, while the crunch
  • Cosy is a state of mind that’s not saved just for winter ☕️ I’ve been a bit absent from social media the last few days as, all of a sudden, I’ve become incredibly busy with presentations and pitches. Is April the new January? To top it off, my first night out in a pub ended up giving me a massive hangover And this is considering I was taking it easy. So, either I’m not as used to drinking out (please, let it be this!) ...or I’m officially getting old. And now hangovers are really hitting me even after a few
  • Different season, same place. Hot or iced coffee? ☕️ ☕️ Personally, I’m ready to swap my oat cappuccino for an ice oat latte. Gentle breeze, sunrays and lush greens all around ... there is just something in the air that makes me crave an ice cold, fully-caffeinated beverage. Just a degree or two later and I’m ready to swap the ice latte for a frappe but let’s not get ahead of ourselves Last day in full lockdown () and I’m impatient to sip on my coffee on a table bathing in sunshine rather than a bench shielded from the wind.
  • Let’s talk HYPED UP books! ‍♀️ Over the last year I really tried to catch up with all these books that have been following me around wherever I went: on bookstagram, in bookstore windows, prime positions on magazine lists, and pretty much any website with book recommendations you’d click on. Lockdown seemed the perfect time to put some of these to the test and see what all the fuss was about. I actually ended up writing a whole blog post about it (over on gininthecity.com - link in bio) featuring the pictured books here...Spoiler alert: I ended up discovering new
  • Get ready for outdoor dining!!...In the UK. In April. Best known for such hits as April Showers and Umbrella Weather ☕️ Weather worries aside, I do wish you all could get the one space that’s both the closest to the heater and under the limited cover, so you can enjoy your martini in peace. Having said that, I’m known for drinking in pub gardens in snowy January. Freezing to my very core, while downing an equally icy G&T. Sometimes while simultaneously holding an umbrella to cover me from the rain while we drunkenly discuss politics with workmates. There were no
  • Post lockdown mood board because we all need one Now dining out is in the near future, I’m setting my post-lockdown sights on great food and even greater cocktails. Thinking big. Mr Big. From New York getaways to central London brunch days, it’s a game of either/or. It’s 2021 & we aren’t taking anything for granted any more. The only thing I know is I’m sure as hell not counting calories or bad decisions. At this point, it’s all or nothing...And when I’m saying ‘all’ I do mean bottomless brunches galore My mood board looks a little bit like this.
  • ‘Perhaps you see city streets or verdant fields, vast mountain ranges or dark, haunted forests, striking slums or golden temples. A multitude of worlds written into being.’ The only travelling I (we) have been doing lately is through the pages of a book. So it should come as no surprise that it’s a book I’m turning to as I’m anxiously counting down the days until I can get on a plane to somewhere new, or familiar, or why not both. With this guide in hand? I’m thinking somewhere that I’ve already visited between the pages. And while I’m browsing through
  • Hope everyone celebrating is having a lovely Easter! Meanwhile somewhere in South West London: Can’t wait to find a book that will have me as enthralled as Evelyn Hugo. With this in mind, counting down the days until I will walk into a bookstore again. About two weeks from now...and darling, I’m planning on making it rain in there
